I have a few but this is the first to come mind and probably the one I'm most proud of. This is for Mercedes-Benz when they come in for a CEL but it's not on at the time and it's got some bullshit code stored.
Performed short-test, found XXX stored in ME control unit with fault counter of 1. Performed guided test. Checked for newer software as per guided test. Newer software available installed as needed. Traced CAN bus in topology. Performed update of ISA/BSA, 48v battery, transmission control, and drivetrain control unit to ensure network is up to date. Cleared codes, short-test clean.
with the right punches and time ran
0.2 short test
0.1 hooking up maintainer
1.0 check components of engine
2.0 data bus check
1.0 update of multiple control units
with my bookers it doesn't work every time but I definitely get more than an 1 hour every time at least.
sometimes there'll be problems with the updates and you can update more shit and get paid for it but sometimes it's easier to just let the car go to sleep. this works for any sort of intermittent random message too. just adjust the story to whatever you have and follow that can bus network.
